Important Information Regarding COVID-19

Hello friends! So COVID is still here. Not surprised? Neither are we.

We are pushing through, but it has been hard for everyone. Here is our status as of right now. We have been closed down except for emergencies since March 19th, 2020,  to preserve PPE (personal protective equipment) for hospitals committed to saving the lives of those affected. Drake Perio donated much of our PPE when this emergency started to first responders in Salem and Tualatin where Dr. Drake lives.  On May 1st, 2020, dental offices have been allowed by the Oregon Government to practice regarding non-emergency and elective procedures. However, we still need to have two weeks of PPE per Governor Brown’s order to open back up full-time.  Because of this, our new hours of operation will vary weekly as permitted by the Oregon Dental Board due to limited PPE sources available to dentists at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.  Unfortunately, our hours will not return to normal for some time until we can assure the supply chain for PPE. Our focus will be (as always) on the safety of our staff and our patients. Guidelines have been proposed for dental offices to minimize the risk of exposure to coronavirus. That said, we still want to be safe, both for ourselves, our families, and your families. Extra precautions to protect from SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus) we are asking that everyone (staff, patients, and families) adhere to these measures as we reopen our office.

1. All surfaces will be disinfected between every patient, as always.  To find out more we are doing, please visit our web page: https://www.drakeperio.com/sars-cov-2/
2. Please come in within 10 minutes of your treatment; forms already filled out. It is our preference that all patients email them back to the office (or fax) beforehand: [email protected]. Thank you so much!
3. Please arrive early for your appointment. Come into the building and come upstairs to the bench in front of our office door and call us when there. The door may be locked.
4. If you have a mask or bandannas, please wear it when you come in as PPE is limited, and we cannot provide masks to patients due to the limited supply available to us.
5. We have a station for you to sanitize your hands as you enter and leave the office.
6. For copay’s necessary to be paid at your visit, we will make a touch-less payment before your appointment. Harley or Geneva will call and collect by telephone ahead of time when then confirm. Please answer your phone if you can!
7. Due to the dramatic changes in procedure and the rising cost of PPE, we have decided to implement an additional copay of $15 per visit for regular appointments and $30 for surgery. We realize these are trying times, and our main priority is the health and safety of our patients and staff. Thank you for your understanding in this matter
8. If you or any of your family are sick with a cough, fever, OR shortness of breath, please, for the safety of others, do not come in. Call ahead of time and reschedule for two weeks out.

We were expecting to reopen on June 16th, 2020. Many of you already rescheduled appointments for after that date. Please plan on keeping those appointments unless contacted by our staff to reschedule. If you have any questions, please let me know. Safety is essential, but so is helping. Your health remains our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 in our community.
State Guidelines and shortages of PPE increased cost of such as gloves, masks, and gowns, we will be operating on a limited schedule a few days out of the week (days/times will vary-and by appointment only).

If you have any questions or concerns, please call 503-385-8821 or email [email protected]. We will respond as soon as we can. Please take care of yourself and your loved ones during this health crisis, and we look forward to a return to good health and normalcy for all.

Be well, Dr. Sunny Drake & Team
